Ideas for my strong image

I have experimented with changing the colour, hue and contrast with photoshop. I'm thinking about making these into a video for my strong image

Below is my context sheet for my project, I have chosen a selection of images that show my journey through the project, including my inspiration, sampling, digital work and final outcomes.

Whilst making my final visualisation and taking photos of my paper pieces, I realised that maybe a wall divider was not the most suitable outcome for my project by rather a wall piece would be better. I thought this for a number of reasons, first a wall divider made out of paper is not that practical would not stand the wear and tear of daily use. Also the shape and form of my pieces changed and have become alot more 3D and i think that these would lend themselves much better to a sculptural wall piece. Below are is my final outcome which shows what it could look like as well as my strong image.

Experimental Videos

I found it quite difficult to find strong images of reception areas on the internet so here I hav just visualised my work in a blank exhibition space to give an idea of what it could look like.

I've been using photoshop playing around with Hue/saturation to edit these images of Manchester architecture, I feel that I am learning new techniques and becoming more confident using photoshop.

Large Scale Printing- Alix Dessain

Not being very good with technology I have kept putting off going to use the large scale printers, but I have finally gone, and although it is quite complicated it is easier than I thought it would be! I scanned my maps in using the A3 scanners in the Mac suite in Chatham, I edited some of them and made them into patterns by layering and repeating them on Photoshop. I printed these off onto both paper and tracing paper and am now going to work into them and see what effects will come out!

Here are 2 of the patters hat i created with maps of Manchester and printed onto A1.

 I came across this the other week, and I though it was a great example of Escher's 3D effect. Also loving the wonderful shapes!! Alix and Samiya maybe this could help you guys?Actually it can help all of you guys in different ways, just a thought :D

Digital Workshop- Alix Dessain

I went to the digital workshop yesterday with Mary Stark, as using computers and Photoshop is definitely not my strongest point! This session was really helpful as she showed us how to digitally visualize our ideas in the new building. This is essential to the project, and the design world today, as a digital image of the piece allows it to be seen in context. I started to get to grips a bit more with Photoshop and this is the result of the session. It isn't the best quality, but once I have decided on my final image and get to know Photoshop more it will hopefully look a little bit better! The piece is not an idea of mine, but a found image that vaguely relates to my project in that it is a hanging and placed against a wall. 

Alix Dessain- Moving Image Workshop

Film and moving image is becoming more and more popular with designers and companies today, who are using it to promote their products to a worldwide audience using the internet.  One of my favourite films that we were shown was the stop motion Pen Story, it flows really well and tells a story along the way, as well as showing what is possible using the stop motion method. We were inducted into how to use the video camera and create a short film. In our group of 4 we filmed a short stop and start clip of a girl weaving in the weave room, using a varity of shots including a long shot and a close up. I will try and incorporate a short film into my project using my work and see what results I get.
