cirriculum vitae- Laura Paterson

My first year at MMU

This year I have been introduced to the print workshop which is where my main interests lie. I like to draw and create pattern using a variety of medias and i feel that each unit has helped me to progress with my designs. Throughout each project i have learnt new skills which will help me to grow and improve with my work, I have particually learnt to be open minded and not to set any barriers for myself.  I have started to work on a much bigger scale since coming to university which has really helped my confidence. I hope to do lots more printing next year as I feel that i can continue to progress my work in this area.

Personal profile/ interests

I am hard working, reliable and a very outgoing person. I always aim to work to the best of my ability producing strong outcomes. I like to reflect back on previous work and ask myself if there is room for improvement as i feel it will help me to learn from mistakes, grow and move forward as a designer.
In my spare time i like to socialise, and travel with friends. I also enjoy visiting art galleries and exhibitions to broaden my knowlege of textiles.

Key skills

I am a fairly confident person with good communication skills, I have had a part time job for four years so I am used to dealing with customers and solving any problems/giving advice. When given advice/ constructive critocism I always think of ways in which i can act upon it and improve within my work.
